Thanks Hershael

So as I ponder whether to send Micah (given his history this winter) to school with the news and fear of swine flu, I come across this commentary.  He states many of the thoughts that Matt and I share, but it sure felt good to have someone confirm them.  Thanks Hershael York, whoever you are.

Yes, what he said.
It has been hard for me to read about the Swine Flu and the amount of attention it gets in the media. Malaria season is still very strong here. We know a lot of people who have lost family members to malaria and other treatable diseases. With all the deaths related to Malaria and tons of other diseases, why freak out about the Swine Flu? Maybe Pastor York is right-we are afraid because it is new. People get in their cars and drive to a local drug store to purchase those health masks, not knowing that driving is far more risky. Wow, we have become a culture or fear and selfishness.
I think I will link his post to my blog, too. Thanks for sharing!

good work ginny! this guy is so right on - this whole swine flu thing is driving ben crazy. the media is making us all crazy - and i am sick of people trying to spread fear. its already hard enough to avoid... the spiritual crisis in this country is much more real and scary - yet isn't mentioned much...even by evangelicals. sad.
