Memorial Day Trip

For Memorial Day, we took a trip to Atlanta to spend the weekend with the Browns and Comptons. Taking trips is always fun. Fun to get away. Fun to fellowship with friends. It is especially fun when the kids are AMAZING in the car. It is not a bad trip to Atlanta, but it does go about 1.5 hours past the boys' limit. However, they were very content the whole trip. Micah was absolutely thrilled to be with his friends and to be back at "Nathan's house." He had fun kissing all the girls and giving high fives to all the guys. Owen was very out of his comfort zone, which is unusual for him. So, we had a little more crying and clinging than is normal. When we got home, he was still so out of character. Finally, on Friday afternoon, he woke from his nap "back to happy." I am guessing it was that last bit of his top tooth because he has been sweet, content Owen again. Matt loved being with his buddies and I had fun hanging out with the girls. We got to do some shopping "babyless" which is always a treat. I browsed all the baby stores looking for shoes for Micah (he dumped gasoline on his brand new tennis shoes the day before the trip. I have managed to get most of it out thanks to Oxi clean, but they had to stay home for the trip,) and made a quick run through IKEA to pick up some birthday presents for Micah. Taylor's parents treated us to a wonderful steak dinner that the boys cooked on the grill; we tried the pool, which was freezing; and took some nice walks around the neighborhood. It really was a refreshing trip. Thanks Nathan and Taylor for opening your home to us, and Ben and Katie for thinking up the great idea. We miss you all!
